Mens A Roll On

The Mens A were up against the might of The Blackest Cats, who are a mix of the best of the younger Womens players in the state plus a few male experienced stalwarts. It was a weird game as I think the boys expected to score more easily than they did, looking to score early in the touch count rather than working on the things we had talked about and work on creating a try from multiple touches, rather than a half run or someone snap their opposition one on one.

Mens B get first win

On a cold and chilly evening the Mens B team ventured out for their first game in the C grade against Gregan Grogans women, who hosted two women who have played multiple NTLs and an ex under 18s NSW rep. So the opposition had some touch prowess amongst their ranks. The first five minutes was shakey and our defence was scrambling here there and everywhere before finally getting some composure and toughening up the touches to impede the oppositions half running. We let a try in within this time and I could tell the lads were a bit nervy. Then we started to play our game, getting some good go forward, using our speed advantage to get them on the back foot, making good ground in rucking ensuring they would only have one or two touches on the line to try score.

Mens B... The team to watch

The Mens B's have had some mixed results. The first week saw them pipped 5-2, with apparently a good solid no frills rucking performance and a few defensive errors coming from inexperience.

The next week then saw them come up against one of the three favourites for the Mens A premiership, The AUTC Mens A grade side. I counted the players in the side and 8 out of the 12 were making their debut season at A grade level, let alone 3-4 guys playing their first mens season of touch.
