State Cup 2010

 Wanted: Players, Coaches, Referees, Selectors for the 2010 SA State Cup

After an absence from the Touch calendar since 2004, Touch Football South Australia will be holding the 2010 South Australian State Cup from Friday 29th – Sunday 31st October at the TFSA fields on Greenhill Rd, Eastwood.

What is the State Cup?

The following divisions will be offered subject to enough entries (four) being received:

* Men’s Open (No age requirement)

* Women’s Open (No age requirement)

* Women’s 27s (Born 1983 or before)

* Men’s 30s (Born 1980 or before)

Touch footy in the news

Woody found this article on the ABC website.  While it is great to see our sport represented in the new headlines, this is probably not the best promotional method around...

A 27-year-old man has been formally refused bail after being charged with the murder of another man in a park in Sydney's South west.

Khaled Kahwaji was arrested at his home at Monterey in Sydney's south last night and charged with murder.

Saba Kairouz, 26, was gunned down while playing touch football at Roberts Park in Greenacre on Sunday afternoon. He died at the scene.

Kahwaji was unable to appear in Sutherland Local Court today because, his lawyer said, he was locked in a conference room at the courthouse and could not be released without a locksmith.

The lawyer did not apply for bail for Kahwaji but indicated an application would be made at another court appearance, next week.
