Women's A
AUTC Jaguars (3) v Dodgers (1)
The last minor round was played out on Monday and it saw the Jaguars defeat the Dodgers 3 to 1 .. It was a cold and wet night .. Far from ideal conditions for playing touch but still the Jaguars toughed it out even when it was pelting with rain ..
Probably not the smoothest or free flowing game that the girls usually play due to the conditions, slippery ball and half the team being ill .. The opposition never really looked like they would challenge the girls in such conditions but it also showed the depth within the Jaguars and their potential .. The Jaguars finished on top of the ladder with the finals to be played out over the coming weeks ..

AUTC Lions (11) v. Total Touch (2)
From the Lions Den!
The last minor round game versus Total Touch was a one sided affair seeing the side run out comfortable 11- 2 winners. All 13 touchdowns had an AUTC player involved with Roola filling in for the opposition and setting up both of theirs.
With only one close minor round lose seeing the Lions finish minor premiers and a tremendous for - against of 122 - 31, they enter the finals choc full of confidence and the team to beat. The side has based its play around some very simple, but effective rules, concentrate on doing the basics well, having good depth, width and realigning hard in attack and working for each other in defence.
Starting the season with 13 players seemed like large numbers, but injuries and holidays have kept numbers down on Monday nights. The biggest challenge is now bringing it all together against the AUTC Tigers this coming game and see how many players we have for the week after (at this stage holidays, injuries, Uni games and work commitments would see us having 8 players available).
Good luck to all sides in the finals. Have fun and get your tickets to the end of season dinner.

Mixed A - Cheetahs
AUTC Cheetahs (8) v Henry's Drivers (4)
The Cheetahs finished the season undefeated with a solid performance against Henry's Drivers. With a full team present, the opposition were far stronger opponents than their ladder position suggested and this was one of the fastest games we had played for a while, with players noticeably tired in the warmer night air.
The team's possession rate was far higher than the previous game, with a lot more time being spent in the attacking half of the field. Unfortunately, the only thing lacking as quality finishing, as several touchdowns went begging through poor passing or decision making. However, the chances were being created, which is a good thing.
Highlights of the game included Maddy's diving effort to catch the ball and score, Sharon hypnotising Sean Owens to open up a gap to score, Louisa taunting the opposition with her 'i bet i can put this ball on the ground at least three times before you can touch me' effort and Ninh's repeated passes to the little people that only he could see.

Mixed A- Cougars
AUTC Cougars(4) v. The Away Team (3)
It should have been 4-2, except for a try to the opposition as the final siren blew. But it was an ok game, and the Cougars finished the regular season sitting second on the ladder.
The team played pretty well working really well together in defense and trundling along in attack.
Again the theme of the half time talk was running more off the ball, and at times we achieved this.
I wait with baited breath the oppourtunity to win a semi final next week, and probably face off against the other Uni team in the Grand final in the week after uni games. Good luck souls

Mixed E/F - Ocelots
AUTC Ocelots (5) vs Trio Test & measure (8)
The AUTC Ocelots (all four of them) began the game with some intense feelings, not least for their comrades who had chosen to play for another team in the same time slot. Taking this passion into the game, the Ocelots smashed the opposition (all six of them plus four subs) in the first 5 minutes, scoring twice in quick succession. Despite some valiant defence however, they soon began to tire (running around like crazy people can kinda do that to ya) and the opposition started to score. At half time they were down by five, but it was noted that every score against them had come from the wings - a worthy effort by the Ocelots.
At half-time, Coach Spurlo borrowed some clothes from the team and exchanged his suit and tie for some seriously baggy pants (thanks Darren) and a waaay too tight top (size 8 - thanks Swifty). With the late half-time addition of Swifty, Spurlo, DY and Owen, the Ocelots were able to take a breather and enjoy the last regular game of the season.
In the end, they lost the game 8-5, which, when considering the fact that they played with four on the field for the first-half, was damn impressive. Nice work team!

Mixed G Grade - Panthers
AUTC Panthers (4) v The Ellas (2)
The Panthers finished the minor round with a hard fought 4-2 win against The Ellas, keeping the team at the top of the ladder with 9 wins 2 losses and a draw from the season.
The team struggled with ball handling and decision making skills in attack often giving up the ball in their own half but produced one of their best defensive efforts of the season to secure victory. The team is excited about finals this week and looking to produce a better performance from last week.
The Panthers have had great season to date, come out and support them this Thursday as they play to make the grand final.
